Our church began as ministers came to evangelize and strengthen believers in the Milford area.
Our History
-
1894 - mennonite brethren in christ church
The Mennonite Brethren in Christ Church began meeting at the Pilot Knob schoolhouse six miles west of Milford. From the regular meeting of a few families and two young ministers in various schoolhouses and area tent revivals, the church grew to the point that we needed a building of our own.
-
1906 - pleasant view church
The Pleasant View Church was built next to the Pleasant View schoolhouse six miles southwest of Milford. With about 30 members in the congregation, the Pleasant View church also began rotating ministerial duties with the Congregational Church located in Milford.
-
1920 - congregational church
The Pleasant View Church decided to merge into the Congregational Church and began meeting there. This church was located on the Southwest corner of First and Walnut Street, where the Milford Farmer's Co-op is now located.
-
1932 - milford missionary church
Our church decided to build a new location on the Northwest corner of Fourth and B Street and move there. We bought the material from a Presbyterian church in Lincoln that was torn down and built the new Mennonite Brethren in Christ Church at this location. This location grew and expanded, and was renamed the Milford Missionary Church in 1969.
-
1997 - grace missionary church
Our current location at 501 Fairway Drive was built and dedicated in 1997, and was renamed Grace Missionary Church. The church at our previous location on 4th & B is now our Youth Center for Junior and Senior High Students.

future VISION
Grace Missionary Church is a vibrant and active community of believers of all ages, reaching out to our local community of Milford and beyond with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We also support our Missionaries who serve abroad as part of the Missionary Church denomination.
